Making a Claim on your Insurance

Remember to read your policy carefully before making a claim. Be sure you have the correct level of cover to warrant a claim and provide the necessary details to the insurer. This ensures your claim will be dealt with in an effective and efficient way.

About your claim

In order to prevent fraudulent claims, insurance companies and their intermediates share information with each other. This information is logged onto 'The Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register' and is monitored by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and Insurance Database Services Ltd (IDS).

In dealing with your claim this register may be searched to enquire about any past claims you may have made and the details of your current claim will be added to it. Your information may then be accessed by any insurance company for future reference.
